commencing students via WebCT and previously we would run a query in the
SIS to produce a CSV of all new students (which was thousands). However
they don't necessarily want to be enrolled in the course. Now they can
self enrol and for the first time it really took off because we put a
link on the front page of [our portal] before the start of the semester
together with an intro blurb and we had the most successful online
orientation ever.
And we can now track who actually is using our Planet material and
another intro to WebCT for students because they can self enrol rather
than using a generic guest login. We love Auto Register!
